VOICE SOUNDS NORMAL.... WHICH MEANS I AM STILL NOT ALLOWED TO SING...

Today, I talked to my surgeon's nurse (I missed my follow-up appointment) and she said that as long as it doesn't hurt, that I can carefully speak - but just not do any seminars or hour long phone conferences yet.

So, I have my voice back (normal one - which is not the one I've had for 6 months where I'm sounding like Froggy from Our Gang (Froggy Laughlin, who lived from 1932 to 1948 had a voice that sounded like Popeye on helium - for the younger people wondering who Froggy was), and that means that I probably still will not be allowed to sing or even hum in my own home.

Last night, we played dominos with Angie, David, Joe and Crystal till after midnight and had a great time.  By the way, if you get an email from Dono Treply and you're wondering who that is, you may want to move the spaces around so it reads DO NOT REPLY.  We had a really good laugh last night when David (our 23 year old son) asked me who Dono Treply was.

Also, as one of our daughters-in-law has discovered, it may be a good idea to remove your cell phone from your back pocket prior to going to the toilet, as dropping it in the toilet and then letting it spend the night in a plastic bag full of rice doesn't always remove the moisture.

Today, someone sent me an email with a woman lipsyncing a Patsy Cline song (She's Got You), that I highly recommend taking 2 minutes to watch.   This woman is pretty funny!

I don't know who she is, but she's not afraid of entertaining.

By the way, football season began this week with pre-season games, so you'll know where Angie and I will be for a few hours every week.   The Cowboys play this coming Thursday night, so we'll see what their pre-season lineup looks like.  I'm very blessed, as Angie likes NFL as much as I do - although she does yell at the football guys more than I do.

We're glad that the Cowboys kept Tony Romo and especially Angie's favorite player (Jason Witten), Neuman and others.  Hopefully, the boys will be able to do better this year since they won't have the constant complainer (T.O. who is playing for the Buffalo Bills this year) constantly causing strife.    Also, we're hopeful that Jason Garret (Defensive Coordinator) does a better job as well this year.

OH - good news on the quilting scene.   Angie started a quilt about 3 1/2 years ago that she's been working on.  It's a King size quilt she's making for herself and planning on entering it next March in the Tyler Quilt Show.  She finally finished piecing it together and now she's about to start putting a back on it and then quilting the individual squares.  If she quilts 2 squares a day, she'll have it finished around mid February - in time to enter it in the 2010 Quilt Show.   I'll see if she'll let me take a photo of it prior to her finishing and put it on the blog - if anyone wants to see it.

Obama said that the surgeon who amputates a diabetic leg due to bad control and care gets something like $30,000 in the New Hampshire Town Hall Meeting today, when the internist gets a pittance for assisting with helping getting and keeping the diabetic in ...control.    To show you how much Obama is LYING to you, let's examine what he said.    He was talking about Medicare costs today, so let's examine what Medicare pays a surgeon to perform an amputation.    He was in New Hampshire, so we'll look at what the doctor in N.H. gets.   It's right about $750.00.    So - where does he get the $30,000 figure from?   Could it be that he is INTENTIONALLY lying to you?   Oh well - surely the end justifies the means.  I mean - if he has to do a little bitty lie to make us realize that we have terrible healthcare in this country that requires IMMEDIATE passage of a bill to fix it - regardless of what is in that bill - then surely it is justified, right?  WRONG.     It's time the people in this country wake up and realize that Obama is not the savior and he is not going to improve healthcare by increasing our debt more than every previous president combined.    Name one thing the government has thrown money at to make better that actually improved because the government threw money at it.

In fact, I'd like to hear from the 6 or so readers that I have (Ok - I may have more than that - but I truly do not know) about what you'd like to see on this blog.   Sometimes I talk about the family, sometimes I talk about politics or Obama and sometimes I talk about healthcare.   What are YOU interested in?

So - enough for today.  Let's see what the rest of the week brings us to talk about....
