Myrtle Beach Heading to Charlotte, NC & Gatlinburg, TN
Today is Saturday and we're taking the day off and relaxing today. Cookie and I just returned from the beach. She LOVES to run along the water's edge and she jumps as she's running around the water and just has so much fun. You can see the smile on her face as she's running and panting Now, she's laying next to me on the floor, sleeping with her legs in the air, as I type this as she's exhausted. By the way - I'm talking about Cookie and not Angie. Angie is sitting at her sewing machine working on her Dear Jane quilt. She almost never runs and jumps in the surf and she doesn't fall asleep on the floor either.
The last couple of days at this convention was very successful and I had a good time. Since the attendance here was small, Keith spent the past couple of days getting contracts for new products and talking to the company wanting to acquire us (we're still not sure that it will be worth it to us to let them do so as we're definitely on the right track right now). Yesterday, I attended a seminar taught by Kavin Williams with the AOA and it's always good to see him. I also very much enjoyed getting to see Manuel Griego D.O. from Dallas and Dan Saylack D.O. from College Station. I've known both of these doctors for about 20 years or longer.
My dad called yesterday and told me that his mower is in the shop and asked me if my mower is self-propelled. I told him that it is when I or any of my sons are pushing it.
This week has been fun as I've met several doctors here in Myrtle at the convention that I look forward to working with. Joe and Gina were very positive, upbeat people and I think it will be fun helping them. I spent alot time with Dianne and Sigmund from New Jersey and it shouldn't be difficult at all to help them make some positive changes in their practice for their patients.
I think the above is a good guide that everyone going to the Mexico should keeep in mind.

By the way, if you have a laptop, do NOT leave it in the bathroom if you liive with a blonde or you may be in for a surprise.
We leave on Sunday to go spend about 3 days in Charlotte, North Carolina. Angie's Apple laptop will not shut down without performing a hard shutdown (holding the power button down), and that is the closest Apple store to our route of travel. While there, Cookie has an appointment at the Petsmart to get a haircut. She doesn't know it yet - so don't tell her as she does NOT like going to that bad place. We pick up so much cookie hair in here and in the truck that we could probably make a duplicate Cookie - but she wouldn't like that too much since she almost never gets along with other dogs.
She hasn't met these cats yet, but hopefully she won't as she does think that she's the king of the roost - whereever we are.
So - we'll be in Charlotte for a few days and then head over to Gatlingburg, TN and spend about 18 days or so - unless we find out in the next few days that we need to be in Durham or Raleigh as we're working on a deal with a 13 clinic practice and we may need to spend a week or two there doing some things.
The reason that Gatlinburg has been added to our route is that there is a medical billing company that decided that since I was going to be in the area that she set up a 4 hour seminar (2 days) in Gatlinburg with me as the primary speaker on Using PQRI to Increase your Income by $200,000.00 a year. She's inviting every family doctor, Internal Medicine and geriatric doctor within 150 miles - so we'll probably pick up alot of new clients, help alot of doctors and increase the number of clients she has. Everyone wins.
After the seminars on the 27th and 28th, we'll spend a few days and then drive half a day over to Chattanooga, TN where the Tennessee Osteopathic state convention will be from June3-5th and then we'll head back to Texas for about 3 weeks to a month before heading out to California and Oregon.
So - if you find out you are on our route and we can help you or your practice - let us know. Maybe, just stopping by for a quick lunch or dinner may help you increase your practice income by $200,000.00 a year. That's really easy to do, by the way - if you're in FP, IM or Geriatrics practice - unless you have more than half of your patients are capitated. Let us know what your thoughts are.
