APRIL 4 - DON RANTING
A couple of days ago, a man blocked the back door of an Immigration center in upstate New York and then walked into the building that had more than 50 people in it and started shooting people. He killed 13 and then took his own life. Today, on ABC and on CBS, they had the pundits talking about gun control saying that we've had too many people shooting multiple people and they believe that taking the guns away from every law abiding citizen is the answer. I have heard some MORONIC things in my life - but that has to be the most moronic.
As the first details were coming out of New York about the massacre, I kept thinking that it happened in a state where people are not allowed to carry a weapon. I wonder how many of those 13 would still be alive if a few of the employees there had a license to carry. When you get a license, you have to take a course on gun safety, the laws, when to use it and when not to and have a federal background check as well as a state background check. The bad guys planning on breaking laws do not do this. They do not go to the gun store where they have to register it and buy it. They get them from other sources and if you make it illegal to own a gun - who do you think will STILL have them? Yep - and then instead of us being able to defend ourselves - we become targets.
Look in the states that have concealed handgun permit laws and compare the incidents of massacres there compared to the states where the crooks and pyscopaths KNOW that no one else will have a gun to shoot back with. Compare the number of armed robberies in the same states. Yet the do-gooder liberals honestly believe that passing more laws to take away guns is the answer and they wonder why I believe they are complete MORONS?
There is a very good reason why the 2nd Amendment is in place. The moment we all turn in our guns - and only the bad guys and non law abiding people have them is the day when we become not only targets - but also when our government will have absolute power. I believe that day will eventually come to America - but I hope and pray that it's not in my lifetime or the lifetime of my grandchildren.
