Jan 22 - Business is good and Received a new photo from my sister

We're still at home and will be until about Feb 8 when we'll head to Florida in the RV.   Speaking of the RV - we just picked it up from the shop today and it looks great (the back end was falling off) and we'll spend about 3 weeks in February in Florida seeing clients, prospects and attending the Florida Osteopathic convention in Fort Lauderdale.

Business is phenomenal and it seems like the more that people get worried about the economy - the better our business gets.   Next week, I'm delivering a report to an East Texas RHC owned by a local hospital and I'll make them another $150,000.00 a year if they'll listen to me (which I'm wondering about since their doctors are paid a flat rate per patient they see - so they don't have any kind of incentive to spend the extra time with the patient to make sure they provide the very best medical care or perform any diagnostics) - but we'll see.    Next week, we also have 4 phone consultations and I'm speaking to the doctors and mid levels in DFW for a 14 clinic group.   I have no doubt in my mind that if they'll allow us - we'll increase their net income of the clinics by more than $2 Million per year - simply because they are not following PQRI - and the best news is that it looks like they'll allow us to help them.

This week, I scheduled a practice analysis with a large hospital group in Missouri and that will probably result in several million a year in increased earnings - but more importantly - they'll discover things about their patients they didn't know and will save more lives because of it.   We also have a client in Arkansas that is about ready to follow our advice about putting a moderate lab in their office - which will increase their annual profits by between $450,000 and $700,000 a year conservatively.    Today, we had a diagnostic/waived lab phone webex consult with a solo provider practice in Alabama who it looks like we'll work with (Keith and I are thrilled because these folks are the kind of people we like working with.  In fact, if every MD in the country was as nice and willing to learn as this one is - we'd be asking to speak at MD conventions instead of just concentrating on working with D.O. conventions only).   We have a 10 provider clinic in Oklahoma that called this week and after talking to the practice manager for about 45 minutes yesterday, it looks like it will be very easy to increase their annual net profits by more than $1,000,000.00 a year.   This office has spent a fortune on a top of the line EMR/PM package and they're only using it to be paperless and cannot get the doctors to use the funcionality or rules engine that would pay for the software in increased profit within 4 months.   It is amazing how many people we're helping and Keith and I are almost giddy at helping so many people.

I received the following photo tonight via email from my sister and brother-in-law in Crescent City, CA with their 10 children (and she is expecting to deliver the 11th one in about a month and a half).   Angie and I are hoping to take the RV and head out to California later this year and get to see them  These are some of the most well behaved, loving, fun-to-be with children you'll ever hope to see and the oldest is graduating from High School this Friday.   Congratulations Candace!     Below, you have Steve, KJ, Candace, Christian, Casey, Constance, Chloe, Cambria, Carmen, Caryn, Catherine and Calista.

They are actually as happy as they appear to be in the photos.    It's a blessing to see them!

We've had an addition to our business as Joe (my 24 year old son) has joined us.  In fact, this week he is in Philadelphia attending ANSAR training and he'll be learning the family business.    I'm further blessed in that I'm less than 10 miles from all 3 of my sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren - so we get to see each other often.  In fact, several times a week, we'll have some of them and/or my dad over to play cards, shoot pool, play dominos, have dinner, watch football, etc...   Life really is good and I'm so happy that we get so much more than we deserve.   I'm doubly blessed that I don't get what I deserve and God gives us so many blessings.

Till later....

    Hi Don
I saw the link to your blog from your business website, which I found when I was looking for information about dermatology being an allowable service at CA RHCs.

Just thought I'd say Hi and introduce myself, as we seem to have a lot in common, since I have love RVs and have connections in TX and Crescent City and work with medical practices too. If you visit your relatives in Crescent City, give me a call and we can have dinner together or something.
